FireEye-and-Mandiant-Merger-01-08-2014-ForbesThe BAE Systems Applied Intelligence segment in Boston rolls out a suite of cloud-based cyber security products designed to defend against targeted attacks, including so-called Zero Day attacks.

Most cyber attacks start with an email message, company officials say. The first set of BAE Systems cloud-based products will comprise the company’s Email Protection Services (EPS) which provides protection against advanced cyber threats.

The offerings include Zero Day Prevention; insider threat prevention; email data loss prevention (DLP); email encryption; email anti-virus and anti-spam; email archiving; and email business continuity. The BAE Systems cyber services are offered from the cloud to reduce integration time and complexity.

Zero Day attacks are unknown, have not previously been seen, require advanced defense, BAE Systems officials say. BAE Systems’s Zero Day Prevention is based on techniques that analyze email in the cloud for malicious content and intent, before it reaches the recipient.
